FCF EXPANSION INFORMATIONA growing church requires constant evaluation, assessment, and preparation for ministry needs. As FCF grown we have tried to adapt as creatively and effectively as we can to these needs. Every classroom, every space is being to fullest. In fact, ministries are becoming limited by our space issues. While space limitations can be frustrations, we are constantly thanking Christ for bringing us people who have a deep desire for Scripture and transformation. We must be continually reminded that it is our privilege to exalt the name of Christ and proclaim His gospel (John 12:32) and His desire to “build the church” (Matthew 16:18). Our ApproachWe are a church that loves the Scripture and loves people. These two combinations have given us a unique opportunity to grow at an increasingly rapid pace. While it would be easy to see the growth as an excuse to build bigger and better, we have decided that the gospel and impact on people in our community and around the world should take precedent on buildings and classrooms. Therefore, we have decided to approach the growth by meeting the obvious needs while continuing to seek other forms of creativity to do ministry (i.e., additional services, campus ministries, church planting). This keeps us from both, distraction from our purpose as the body of Christ and massive debt in a difficult economy. Revive Worship Service is a time of intimate encounter with Christ through Bible Study, worship, and prayer. We discovered that people needed a time to come together in the middle of the week to find encouragement and a reminder of why we're here...to glorify God. So we join together to pray for each other, worship with each other, and stir each other to a deeper walk with Christ.

Discover Switchback Student Ministries! Switchback Student Ministries is a ministry of Faith Christian Fellowship and is for students in grades 6-12. The student ministry is made up of students from all walks of life and backgrounds with two purposes: To love God and to love people. Everything we do as a ministry is geared towards helping others develop a deeper sense of who God is and then living out that relationship in a relevant way to everyone we come in contact with. We chose the name, “Switchback Student Ministries” because of the path of life. A switchback is a trail that is carved into a mountain for the purpose of all who ascend the mountain to follow for safety and to give direction on how to make it to the summit. There are some when hiking who choose to “trailblaze” and get off the switchback and make their own path. This same premise applies to our spiritual lives…we try to do everything our way rather than follow God’s way. We become upset, angry and bitter towards God because we feel as though He has left us, when in reality it is us who have left “the trail.” It is our prayer that you would visit Switchback Student Ministries and Discover God and relationships with students your own age who are seeking to live Christ effectively. Consider the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 25:4-5; “Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths; lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation, for You I wait all the day.” Switchback Student Ministries Gatherings:“The Canyon” Sundays @ 9 a.m.--This is a time for those students who desire to go deeper into God’s Word and to be challenged in their walk with the Lord. “Base camp” Wednesdays @ 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.—This is the weekly outreach when many students invite friends. There is always an activity and a topical study as well as small groups.*Students meet together and then are split by age group“The Trek”—This is the student leadership that meets for in depth study about various leadership topics. Students who are selected to be part of this group also assist in the planning of Wednesday evenings and other activities and service projects.Student Missions-The student ministry does missions trips on three year rotations.Year 1- Location is within 3 hours of Hagerstown, MDYear 2- Location is nationalYear 3- Location is internationalOther Activities Include—Camping Trips, Retreats, Service Projects, Amusement Parks and a variety of other activities throughout the year. Dave and Dianne’s journey as missionaries began many years ago. Dave came to know Christ at a Campus Crusade for Christ event. After getting involved in the Campus Crusade ministry, Dave attended a conference and felt God calling him to missions. He then attended Liberty Baptist College and majored in missions. Dianne trusted Christ at the age of 10 years old. God immediately starting tugging at her heart toward missions. As a college student, Dianne surrendered her life to Christ for missions. In 1981, Dave and Dianne got married. They have 3 children, Dave Jr. (married to Jamie), Deanna (married to Danny Pelton), and Douglas. As mission team leaders at FCF for 6 years, God gave them a great love and respect for the people of Nicaragua, in Central America. After developing lasting relationships, and seeing God at work in their midst, it became obvious that the Lord wanted them there more than just a week or two a year. After much prayer and counsel, they committed their lives to missions on May 27th, 2004. In June 2004, the Glazes were officially accepted by the mission board, Churches in Missions. They then attended the Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica and have served in both Costa Rica and Nicaragua, assisting short term teams and teaching ESL classes to help further the gospel. In November 2008, the Lord led Dave and Dianne to become staff missionaries directly under FCF. This allows them to expand missions opportunities with other organizations and mission opportunities, as well as connect FCF short-term teams to different ministries throughout Central America. Please feel free to browse their website at www.glazefamily.org/davidglaze/

Email Pastor Dave at pastor@explorefcf.comWhile growing up in Hagerstown, Dave came to know Jesus Christ through the influence of a godly mother and godly church influences. These godly influences led him to attend Washington Bible College outside of Washington D.C. While a student majoring in Pastoral Ministry, he met his wonderful wife Allyson...whom he affectionately calls "baby love." They have now been married 14 years and have four terrific boys; David - 12, Caleb - 11, Jacob - 8, and Isaac - 6. Upon completion of his Bachelors degree from WBC, he continued his studies at Capital Bible Seminary where he was awarded a Master's of Divinity. Following graduation, he became an Adjunct Professor of Bible/Theology at Washington Bible College. While pursuing his two passions, family and church, Dave spent three years as Children's Pastor at Grace Baptist Church, in Bowie, MD before becoming the Pastor of 20.20 Vision Ministry (Singles/Young Adults). While there he developed a passion for preaching the truth of Jesus Christ through the stories of Scriptures. He came to the realization that the church had the responsibility and capability to put forth the answers to the spiritual questions people were asking…only found through straightforward Bible teaching and by modeling missional living. In 2007 God moved Dave and his family to FCF to lead a growing church into our next phase of ministry. Dave continues to inspire all generations to live life, not religiously, but passionately and missionally for the cause of Christ. Dave's visionary leadership and passion for discipleship has led FCF into some exciting times of growth both spiritually and numerically. Together, FCF is striving to become the kind of church found in the Bible, where truth taught from God’s Word is made practical for everyday living, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to be a place where FAITH is discovered.

Global MinistryOur church is fully commited to the command of Christ to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19). This begins in our community and spreads around the world. Our efforts effectively reach an ever-changing world for Christ and mobilize our growing congregation of World Christians for cross-cultural outreach. Our support for missionaries goes beyond money...we attempt to be diligently involved in their lives and ministries. Our desire is to be a center for sending missionaries around the world through consistent connection with our missionaries on the front lines. Through strategic short-term mission trips, we are able to give our people a clear perspective of the world through God's eyes.Whether it's ministry across the street, or around the world...our mission is clear...to spread Christ to the world. Short Term Missions TripsWe encourage everyone at FCF to experience a missions trip. A short-term missions trip provides great opportunities to partner with missionaries on the front-lines of ministry...to encourage and thank them for their diligence for Christ. These trips also help us to work hand in hand with other believers from these different cultures through evangelism, work projects, and needed services to gain a global view of God's work. We have many opportunities for our children to learn about Christ and understand what faith in Him is all about. As Faith Kids we strive to teach and guide each child in their spiritual journey, but we also realize that parents have the greatest opportunity to influence the spiritual development of their children. Each weekend children will be taught truths from God’s word and sent home with tools and resources for parents to continue the teaching at home. Events Discovery GroupsSomeone once said that "a healthy, growing small groups ministry will produce a healthy, growing church." Why? Because the desire for community is everywhere in all cultures because it is embedded into how we've been created. From the local coffee shop, to social networking sites, Internet gaming, country clubs or sports, we all have an innate desire to belong. The question is not, "Will we engage in community?" Instead we ask, "What type of community will we engage in?" Our desire is that everyone would find a Discovery Group of people to do life with, so that you would know and be known and love and be loved. Together we will discover more deeply what it means to follow Christ through the experience and wisdom of others. Our Discovery Groups to include both Sunday morning classes designed to go deeper, and for a more intimate time, home small groups that meet throughout the week for Bible Study, discipleship, accountability, fellowship, and mission in the community and world.Current Sunday Morning Discovery Groups available (please click here)Mid Week Discovery Groups available (please click here)

Our Core ValuesFCF exists to build believers to the glory of God by Discovering the Word...Changing the World!Every church has a unique identity, a DNA if you will, which is formed by the interaction of theology (How we view Scripture), philosophy (How we operate in our theology) and practice (The practical outworking of our theology and philosophy). Our vision as a church is to grow people as an equipping center focused on depth over width. We desire life transformation by:Teaching Christ BoldlyEncountering Christ PassionatelyLiving Christ RelationallyServing Christ Faithfully

Our Beliefs#1 Scripture: We believe that the Bible, consisting of Old and New Testament Scriptures, is the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God, His Revelation to man, inerrant in the original writings and that it is therefore the supreme and final authority in all matters of doctrine, faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16) #2 God-Head: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt.28:19) #3 Christ (Pre-existence, Deity, and Incarnation): We believe that Jesus Christ ever existed with the Father and Holy Spirit and that in His incarnation was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. (John 1:1-19; I Timothy 3:16)#4 Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are totally depraved and sinners in thought, word and deed, and that they must be born-again to be accepted of God. (Romans 5:12; 3:10; 3:23; John 3:1-21)#5 Christ (Death, Resurrection, and Ascension): We believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and a substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are saved on the grounds of His shed blood. We believe that He arose bodily from the dead on the third day in the same body in which He suffered and died. We also believe that our Lord ascended into Heaven; that He is now seated at the right hand of the Father and is our High Priest and divine Advocate with the Father. We believe that by His finished work on the cross and His unceasing ministry of intercession in Glory, that Jesus Christ has procured for every believer Eternal Redemption, Eternal Salvation, and Everlasting Life. (I Corinthians 15:3; 15:4; John 20:27; Mark 16:19; Hebrews 8:1; 7:25; I John 2:1; Hebrews 9:12; 5:9; John 3:16)#6 Holy Spirit: We believe that there is one true and living God; Creator of Heaven and earth; and that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfections and exercising distinct but harmonious operations in the great work of redemption. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17)#7 Church: We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ was begun at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended from Heaven and came into the church; that is composed solely of born-again people who have been called out from among the Jews and Gentiles to become the Body and Bride of our Lord. Christ, glorified in Heaven is its Head and the Holy Spirit on earth is the active agent of the God-Head who seeks to bring about within its rank conformity and obedience to the Word of God and the Will of God. The one body unites Believers to each other, and all to Christ; and its chief purpose of existence is to proclaim the Gospel to the world. (Acts 2; Romans 1:16; Acts 15:14; Ephesians 5:23-24; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)#8 Ordinances: We believe that two ordinances are significant above any other that Christians are commanded to observe, namely Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. While recognizing that Water Baptism has no saving merit, it is our conviction that after one is saved, Baptism is the next step in order to portray to the world the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. It is our conviction that the scriptural method of Water Baptism is immersion. We believe that Jesus Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper to commemorate His death till He comes. We further believe that Water Baptism by immersion is observed but once, and is a sign of identification, and a testimony to newness of life, but the Lord’s Supper is commemorative and is to be observed as a memorial of the Broken Body and the shed Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; 3:13-17; I Corinthians 11:23-33; Acts 3:31-38)#9 The Lord's Second Advent: We believe in the Blessed Hope, the personal, premillennial, pretribulation, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is known as the Rapture of the Church. We also believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of Christ to the earth with His Saints at the end of the great tribulation. This phase of His coming is known as the Revelation of Jesus Christ. When He returns to earth with His Saints, we believe that Jesus Christ will establish His Millennial Kingdom and will reign for one thousand years. (Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; John 14:3; Revelation 19:11-21; 20:1-6)#10 Eternal State: We believe in a Heaven and a Hell. Heaven, the place of eternal conscious joy for all who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Hell, the place of conscious punishment for all who reject Jesus Christ and those dead in their sin until the final judgment at which time death and Hell are cast into the Lake of Fire which is the place of eternal conscious punishment. (John 14:1-6; Psalm 16:11; Philippians 1:21-23; Psalm 9:16; John 8:24; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:10-15)#11 Satan: We believe that Satan is a personal being, a fallen angel, prince of demons, the god of this age, the great enticer and deceiver, the adversary of Christ and His people, the accuser of the brethren, whose end is the Lake of Fire. (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-19; II Corinthians 4:3-4; Revelation 20:10. #12 Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God, brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:18-19) #13 Assurance of the believer: We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word; which; however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh. (Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15) #14 Eternal Security: We believe that salvation is an eternal state, that once truly secured, cannot be lost. (John 5:24; 10:27-29; Romans 11:29; Philippians 1:6; Ephesians 4:13-14; 4:30; I Peter 1:3-5)

In fact, there is something new to believe around every corner...A new religion, new belief, or a new idea. Our faith is not based upon a new idea or new thought, but evidence as found in God's Word the Bible.Jesus said, "...you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)When talking with Pontius Pilate, Jesus said, "Everyone who sides with truth, believes in Me." To this Pilate asks, "What is truth?" (John 18:37-38).
